Biology majors are encouraged to consider study abroad through various programs organized by the UNC Study Abroad Office
One of these programs, designed specifically for science majors, is the Trans Atlantic Science Student Exchange Program (TASSEP), which permits students to receive full credit for courses taken at a European university.
Additional study abroad opportunities are offered on the Go Abroad.com website: http://www.goabroad.com/study-abroad/search/biology-general/study-abroad-1
Within North Carolina, you may consider the opportunities available at the Highlands Biological Station in the southern Appalachian mountains.
A great resource for funding can be found here: http://cgi.unc.edu/awards
